ANALYSIS ON GEOLOGICAL BACKGROUND OF METALLIZATION AND ASSESSMENT ON POTENTIAL ORE-RESOURCES IN XIANGHUALING OREFIELD, HUNAN

Studying the favorable degree of geological background of metallization for a prospecting field is a effective path trying to enhance the causality between the forecasting marks and the results. The main factors of the geological-background system of metallization in Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic orefield- the characters of structural activity and granitic magma intrusion and their disposal are researched in this paper. We consider , although the field is located in the suitable ore-forming belt regionally, that "three many and one small" feature (e. g. too many metallic elements and metallogenic types, too amny times of the granitic magma intrusive and too many the subsidiary fractures but small-scale metallic deposits ) of the geological background of metallization in the field restricts the possibility forming large-scale Sn, Pb, Zn, W deposits and reduces the expectation value for metallogenic prognosis and the potential ore-resources in the orefield.
