THE NEW METHOD OF EVALUATING THE CLASS OF HEAVY OIL ZONE BY WELL-LOGGING

The weight ratio of oil and water gained from the well-logging data can characterize the quality of heavy oil zone, combined with the porosity, saturation and shale content, it can evaluate sandstone heavy oil zone effectively and provide scientific basis for the heavy oil thermal recovery (steam injection).To evaluate the class of heavy oil zone by the weight ratio of oil and water is a new concept, the new method of evaluating the class of heavy oil zone by well-logging is established on base of this new concept. This paper deals with the physical basis of the new method and establishes the mathematical formula of evaluating the class of heavy oil zone. The evaluation rule and application example are also demonstrated in this paper.
