试论王佐良的诗歌译作与译论

王佐良是研究英国文学的著名学者和优秀的翻译家。他的翻译作品主要是诗歌，其诗歌译作乃名家之笔，其所论乃学者之见，具体体现在：独特的选材观；知“义”论世的诗义理解；变通的“神似”译诗方法；译诗的文化意识；译诗的主体是诗人；坚定的“诗歌是可译的”信念等方面。其译作和译论至今仍具有重要的借鉴意义。

On Wang Zuoliang's Verse Translation and His Views

Wang Zuoliang was not only an English literature scholar,but a great translator as well. Although he did not do much translation (mainly poems by British poets) and he did not write much about translation, his verse translation and his views on it were all nice and concise. They are represented by the select subject of his verse translation, the understanding of verses under the social and cultural contexts, true-to-essence translating method,culture consciousness in the translation of verses, poets as subjects of verse translation and his firm belief that poetry is translatable. His verse translation and his verse-translating views have greatly influenced later translators and scholars on translation studies.
