Clinical Study of Thumb-Tack Needing Combined with Lateral Needling in Treatment of Lumbar Muscle Strain of Kidney Deficiency

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of thumb-tack needing combined with lateral needling in treating lumbar muscle strain of Kidney deficiency.Methods:60 patients with lumbar muscle strain of Kidney deficiency were randomly divided into the observation group(n=30)and the control group(n=30).The observation group was treated with thumb-tack needing combined with lateral needling,once every other day for 4 weeks;whereas the control group was treated with ordinary acupuncture,once every other day for 4 weeks.After the treatment,the efficacy and safety were evaluated in the two groups.Results:In the end,52 patients in this study completed treatment,with 27 patients in the observation group and 25 patients in the control group.The scores of VAS and ODI,the whole blood viscosity,the plasma viscosity,the serum levels of TNF-αand IL-6 were all significantly improved after the treatment compared to those before the treatment in the two groups(P<0.01);of which the improvements in the observation group were more significant(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion:Thumb-tack needing combined with lateral needling can effectively treat lumbar muscle strain of Kidney deficiency with its high safety.
