Abstract:Objective To investigate occurrence of contamination with food-borne pathogenic bacteria in varied food in Fentai district of Beijing to provide scientific evidence for controlling and reducing food-borne diseases.Methods Totally,196 samples were collected from 13 sorts of food according to the requirements set in the Manual of National Food-borne Diseases Surveillance.Seven kinds of food-borne pathogenic bacteria and coli-form bacteria,indicator for contamination,were detected for the samples.Results Of the 196 samples,11 strains of food-borne pathogenic bacteria were isolated(5.11%) from 10 pieces of food samples,including five strains of Salmonella(2.55%,5/196),five strains of Staphylococcus aureus(4.63%,5/108),and one strain of Listeria monocytogenes(0.80%,1/125).Contamination involved predominantly in meat and its products.Staphylococcus aureus was detected from three pieces of Chinese salad samples and Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus detected from one packaged bean curd(north tofu) sample.Overall,62.71 percent of the samples checked met the national hygienic criteria for food in coli-form bacteria.Conclusion No optimistic about food contamination with food-borne bacteria and coli-form bacteria is allowed in Fengtai district,Beijing.It is necessary for relevant sectors to strengthen supervision and monitoring of food production,processing and marketing.
