| Abstract: | PBL is a totally new approach to education which is both a curriculum and a process. The curriculum consists of carefully selected and designed problems that demand from the learner acquisition of critical knowledge, problem solving proficiency, self - directed learning strategies, and team participation skills. The process replicates the commonly used systemic approach to resolve problems or meet challenges that are encountered in life and career. Cases provide a focus for learning and discussing. Therefore, they play a key role in the PBL curriculum. In this article, they are detailed from four parts, which are the importance, application, characteristics and writing process. |
