The key points of interpolating technology to accurately machine the parts with non circle generatrices by common NC lathes are discussed. An universal generating software for machining program is programmed. Once the generatrix equation and main parameters of the machined part are input to the software, the machining program in NC code will be created, and the dynamic imitation of the whole machining process can be displayed on the computer screen. The software has been used efficiently at the GSK 928 NC lathe to machine the parts.
