Development of management information system based on Informix

A medium sized and mini type enterprises based on XENIX system's Informix data system environment are discussed. System design is utilized by the means o f analysis and it has a comprehensive method to develop the research of sub sys tem step by step, adopts the black and white test software to have a trial test of the whole system. The system includes the following four parts: management plan, supplying storage management, finance and all shared data management. The syste m integrates the sub system of material, production, store, cost, finance and r unning management and has a certain kind of determination function in management information system. Through analysing the requirement and situations of the enterprise, the system builds corre sponding databases respectively and stores them in corresponding user's dire ctory. Informix's data safety precautions are used to controll call on data base by setting up user's jurisdiction, single user's jurisdiction and fie ld jurisdiction. Informix's directory structure and alternating menu structu re are also used step by step to accomplish the development and maintenance of t he management information system.
