Conventional caprolactam production technology and the research development of new caprolactam production technology are introduced, and the supply and demand as well as the development prospect of caprolactam both at home and abroad are analyzed in this paper. The total caprolactam production capacity is about 4 692 kt/a, and the total caprolactam consumption is about 3 930 kt/a in the world in 2010. It is estimated that the consumption of Caprolactam will reach 4 500 kt/a in the world in 2015.
