Abstract:MWNTs/HDPE composites and MWNTs/UHMWPE composites were prepared by solution blending and ultrasonic dispersion. The composites were irradiated by 60↑Coγ-rays with absorbed dose of 50, 150 or 300 kGy respectively and the effects of radiation cross linking on electrical properties of composites were investigated. The result showed that radiation could increase the volume resistivity of composites at room temperature and both of the positive temperature coefficient (PTC) intensity and the negative temperature coefficient (NTC) effect of MWNTs/HDPE composite could be eliminated when the absorbed dose was 300 kGy. The optimum absorbed dose for 9% S.MWNTs-60100/UHMWPE composite was 150 kGy.
