| 摘 要： | Twenty-three years of conflict and chronic under-investment have devastated the urban housing stock and physical infrastructure of Afghanistan. However, the financial support for urban development lag behind other strategic sectors while cities are expected to play a leading role in the reconstruction. With one of the highest urban growth in Asia, the cities in Afghanistan claim comprehensive investment, balanced urban development plans and immediate actions to meet the severe challenge. In this regard UN-HABITAT has been supporting the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing in developing many reconstruction programmes.
