Sealing Technique for Consolidation of Soft Clay Foundation with Vacuum Preloading Method and Its Application

The vacuum sealing technique is one of the main technique difficulties and construction keys in the consolidation of soft clay foundation with vacuum preloading method,which greatly influences on the consolidation effect.Based on the study and summary of the correlating literatures and the engineering examples,the vacuum sealing technique with vacuum preloading method in the consolidation is discussed,the vacuum sealing is divided into two parts of the boundary sealing and the plane sealing by the position of the soft clay foundation sealed.The common used sealing forms of the boundary sealing and plane sealing,the engineering characteristics,the fitting conditions and the applied circumstance in actual engineering are expounded in order to provide a reference for the similar projects.
