| Abstract: | The sand model test on the distribution of earth pressure is carried out in the paper. Two kinds of support patterns are adopted for the test. One is the cantilever suport; another is single-strut. Through lab test, the distribution of earth pressure of sand is obtained. It is found that the value obtained from the proposed formula is agreed with that of the measured. Comparing with the Rankine' s theory, its earth pressure is less than that of the proposed formula. |
