Abstract: | In order to study the mechanical behavior of concrete-filled rectangular weathering steel tubular stub columns, experiments on a total of four concrete-filled rectangular weathering steel tubular stub columns with rectangular cross-section form were carried out. The finite element (FE) method was used to analyze the axial compressive behavior of the concrete-filled rectangular weathering steel tubular stub columns. The differences between concrete-filled rectangular weathering steel tubular stub columns and concrete-filled steel tubular stub columns were compared based on the finite element analysis and experiment results. Research results show that the constitutive relation of steel used in this paper is suitable for weathering steel, and the steel tensile performance test shows that the mechanical properties of weathering steel and carbon steel are similar. The ultimate bearing capacity, ductility and restraint effect of steel tube on concrete are greatly improved with the confining stirrup. The axial compressive behavior of concrete-filled rectangular weathering steel tubular stub column and concrete-filled steel tubular column have no significant difference. |
