| Abstract: | Recent legislation on the removal of nutrients from wastewater has led to a number of operation problems with struvite scaling. Struvite is MgNH4PO4 x 6H2O and this paper reviews the formation, control and recovery of struvite from primarily municipal wastewater and other waste streams. Treatment options for control and technologies for recovery are discussed. |
