Abstract:Vibration tests and modal analysis method were used to recognize cause of steering wheel’s shakingunder engine idling operation, it was found that the steering wheel’s operating modal was close to engine’s secondorder excitation frequency, which caused steering wheel’s idle shaking. Three improvements were presented to reliefthis problem, including structural optimization, lightweight design of steering wheel. The effectiveness and rationalityof the improvements was verified through experiments.
