| Abstract: | The paper describes the blocking fault which occurred in plate-fin heat exchangers of a 1000m 3/h air separation plant owing to water freezing caused by mist entrainment in the air cooling tower which resulted from the foams produced by adding pesticide into the circulating water.In addition the causes and measures taken are given.Furthermore the paper points out some deficiencies in operation to which close attention should be paid. |
