Abstract:The grid interconnection pattern in China is not only a theoretical problem, but also a strategic problem related to the long term development of the electric power network in China. The determination of the pattern of grid interconnection will play an important guiding role in the realization of actual grid interconnection and in the interconnection pattern. A lot of analysis and research has been done on this question by many experts and organizations in many concerned institutions, but a common understanding has not been reached up to now. This paper intends to further explore the question of power grid interconnection in China with a new perspective. Through the load intensity analysis on each of the future individual power grids, a conception of core power grid in China is put forward, along both sides of the Beijing Guangzhou railway and the Beijing Kowloon railway running through from North to South China, including the current North China, East China, Central China, Shandong, Fujian and Guangdong power networks. It is considered that the condition of forming a strong AC link inside the core power network will be possessed. It is not suitable to form strong links between the core power network and the surrounding networks. To maintain a high level of security and stability of the core power network, many links between the core and the non core network should be avoided.
