Abstract:Taking the governing & protecting system of a domestic 135 MW turbine as an example, the functions of control orifice, safety orifice and experiment orifice in the system are described. Some common faults in the turbine governing & protecting system caused by orifice are introduced, including the low EH oil pressure, sudden shut off of HP governing valve in normal operation, abnormal latching of turbine unit, sudden shut off of the valve during testing period and frequent switching of feed pump turbine's governing valve. So, great attention shall be paid to the correctness of the orifice installation & commissioning.
