| Abstract: | Continuous wavelet transform,one dimensional and two dimensional discrete wavelet transform are expounded. The advantage of wavelet transform,the characteristic of image coding and compressing using wavelet transform and its implementation methods are analyzed. Some improved methods of image coding and compressing based on wavelet transform are presented briefly. |
