Abstract:Fumaric acid adsorption during the L malic acid production is discussed. It is shown that the activated carbon SB can absorb fumaric acid specifically and efficiently. The content of fumaric acid in L malic acid after being adsorbed by the absorbent is down to 0.1%. The effect of flow rate on the adsorption, selection of the regenerating agent and recycling stability of the adsorbent are also discussed. The experiment shows that this method for reducing the content of fumaric acid in L malic acid is suitable for the application in the production of L malic acid.
