Abstract:Polyphenylene sulfide(PPS)/Ethylene-methacrylate-glycidyl methacrylate(E-MA-GMA)/Glass fiber(GF)/Halloysite nanotubes(HNTs) hybrid composites were prepared by means of melt blending.The mechanical properties,thermal property,flame-retardant property and the morphologies of the composites were investigated.The results showed that when the mass fraction of E-MA-GMA in PPS/E-MA-GMA blends was 12%,the mass fraction of GF and HNTs was 30% and 6%,the composites had better comprehensive properties.The tensile strength,flexural strength and notched impact strength of composites were increased by 145.3%,83.2%,338.3% respectively compared with pure PPS.The limit oxygen index was up to 52.5% and heat distortion temperature achieved about 237.1℃.SEM revealed that GF and HNTs had good dispersibility in the matrix of PPS,and the diameter of GF was different with that of HNTs.The application of coupling agent KH550 improved interface bonding of GF,HNTs and PPS.
