A Two-Stage Ejection Injection Mold Design for a Connecting Base with a Male Thread

Based on a plastic connecting base with a male thread,the design methods of the injection mold for the external thread molding by the side core-drawing mechanism which is made up of two half-slides on the moveable mold was investigated.The characterstics of plastic connecting base with a male thread was analised.A detailed comparison of the parting surface,the runner and the gate of the mold was conducted.The selection scheme satisfied the simplicity and economy of the die structure and the manufacturing process.It has been discussed deeply into how to choose the parting surface and design the gating system,bow to design the side core-drawing mechanism driven by the ejection process.It also made a further probe into the necessity and the design methods of a two-stage ejection mechanism.
