Abstract:On the basis of the mass flow equation and consideration of effects of thickness deviation and tension on rolling speed,a speed control model for cold tandem mill has been established.The configuration of controllers is implemented according to its dynamic chart.The parameters of the controller are further optimized based on simulation results.This model has been applied successfully in rolling process for a 1 550 mm cold tandem mill.The deviation of tension decreased from 300 kg to 90 kg,the error of thickness reduced from ±5 μm to ±4 μm.In addition,the dynamic response and strip shape were improved obviously.
