Experimental Study on Flotation of a Fine-grained Carbon-containing High-sulfur Lead-Zinc Ore

Abstract:A lead-zinc mine is a fine-grained high-sulfur carbon-containing lead-zinc ore with the content of 7.41% Pb, 13.70% Zn, 31.25% sulfur, and 1.45% carbon. Based on the characteristics of the lead-zinc ore, the "decarburization- selective flotation of Pb and Zn-regrind and fine-dressing is adopted in this paper, and the influence of grinding fineness of carbon roughing, regrinding fineness of lead zinc rougher concentrate and flotation reagent are investigated. The result show that with the carbon coarse grinding fineness of -0.074mm accounting for 98%, BK9032 used as flotation collector for galena, ZnSO4+Na2SO3 used as combined depressant for lead cleaning, lime used as pyrite depressant and pH regulator, butyl xanthate used as flotation collector for sphalerite, a Lead concentrate of 57.91% Pb with recovery of 85.24% and a zinc concentrate of 53.44% Zn with recovery of 86.17% are obtained, respectively.
