Abstract:In underwater wireless sensor Network,MAC(medium access control)protocol carry out the fair distribution of channel resources for multiple competing user.We describe the characteristics of underwater acoustic communication and the key issues designed of MAC protocols in this environment,it also summarize design principles and classifica-tion methods of MAC protocol for underwater wireless sensor network.By analyzing primary mechanism of the various types of typical MAC protocols currently,a detailed comparison of the features of these protocols,the difference per-formance and range of application are given.On this basis,analyzed and discussed to issues and challenges improved the underwater wireless sensor network MAC protocol facing and point out that the focus of future research.
