The Trend of Next Generation Network-Convergence and Openness

With the development of network, fixed network, mobile network and IP computer network will converge, and next generation network (NGN) will be uniform and integrated. Distributed computing and communication technology are imported into NGN so as to provide different application according to network QoS. Meanwhile, future network is a service driven network, so the openness is a key factor. In this paper, background of NGN convergence is introduced. NGN convergence details and steps are discussed. Suitable open interface, service platform, development and open operating manner of next generation network services are mainly focused.
