The tramcar roadbed design features in Nanjing Hexi

Modern trams,as an emerging means of urban rail transit,are different remarkably from subway,light rail and high-speed railway in many perspectives. This paper,on the basis of subgrade design theory and in the light of the engineering practices of trams project in Hexi district of Nanjing,studies and defines the references to determine settlement control criterion,the key influential factors relating to foundation treatment,and the design parameters of subgrade structure,and provides references for establishing proper tram design standards.
