Abstract:In this paper, the kinetics and creeping behavior in the tempering of were experimentally investigated in detail with two kinds of large-forging steel. The martensitic and bainitic transformations were expressed as functions of the tempering parameter. The kinetics of phase transformation of the retained austenite was described by the Avrami equation. Based on the elastoplastic-creeping theory, the constitutive relations for steel tempering process were obtained, and an FEM code was developed. The program was verified with the tempering process of a cylindrical specimen, and the quenching-tempering process of a turbine rotator was analyzed.
