Theoretical History and Main Fields of "Social Capital"

As the newly emerged interpretative framework of social sciences over the recent past,theories of social capital are mainly composed of the sociological and economic theories and those of political science.The two groups of theory have great differences in the definition and the approaches to the study of social capital.Social capital theories can be traced back to the early doctrines of norms,morality,and influences of social bodies on the individuals from the disciplines of sociology,economics and politics.At present,the core of social capital theories touches on the concept,attributes,function,evaluation,and creation of social capital.Researches in this field are of great significance in the study of China.
