《灶神之妻》与东西方文化的融合

文化的冲突与融合一直是生活在东西方两种异质文化,即美国“主流”文化和民族“边缘”文化中的美国华裔作家们体验最为强烈,也最为关注的问题之一。美国华裔女作家谭恩美通过其第二部作品《灶神之妻》对中国母亲形象的刻画,将具有东方传统特征的“母亲”与深受西方文化浸润的“女儿”之间的矛盾,艺术地提升到东西方文化冲突的层面上来,体现其所倡导的“继承母文化,吸纳新文化,东西方文化必然走向融合的文化‘大同’趋势”。
