On the Effects of Multimedia and Network-based English Teaching and Learning on the Cultivation of College Students＇ Autonomous Learning Abilities and the Improvement of Their English Language Skills

Along with College English teaching reform,multimedia and network-based English teaching and learning obtains universal utilization and promotion in English teaching.The present paper studies the significance of multimedia and network-based English teaching and learning in the cultivation of college students＇ autonomous learning abilities and analyzes the effects of the new teaching and learning environment on students＇ different English language skills,especially on their proficiency of listening and oral English.It concludes that multimedia and network-based English teaching and learning will contribute to the cultivation of college students＇ autonomous learning abilities and the improvement of their English language skills,and it can improve college students＇ proficiency of listening and oral English significantly.
