| Abstract: | Using viscometry,the gelation rata of acidic silica sol has been studied.It is found that the gelation rate of acidic silica sol containing higher electrolyte levels is affected by pH. The concentration of electrolyte decreases with a decrease in the effect.At the lower con- centrations of electrolyte,the gelation rate of acidic silica sol is very slow and the effect of pH on the gelation rate is very small.Generally,the activation energy of gelation would not change with the pH. |
