Method of color test for digital cameras and camera phones

The ability of color reproduction is a vital imaging characteristic of digital cameras and camera phones.This paper describes the methods of testing color error and white balance for digital cameras and camera phones in La~* b~* color model.Color error is calculated by comparing the differ- ences between standard color blocks and imaging color blocks.Under several light surroundings, white balance is evaluated through computing the saturation of imaging gray blocks.These test methods have been successfully applied to test color reproduction ability of digital cameras and mo- bile cameras with high consistency and repeatability.
