| Abstract: | Drafted by IEC,IEC 61850 is an international communication standard for substation automation system.It uses advanced MMS as the real-time communication protocol of application layer to realize the communication between substation level and bay level.This paper summarizes the functions and characteristics of MMS and IEC 61850,analyses the relationship between MMS and IEC 61850,and discusses the applications of MMS in the IEC 61850 communication protocol and their mapping principle. |
