Abstract:As a hot spot in the computer research and industrial fields, peer-to-peer computing (Abbr. P2P) has been mainly applied to resource sharing. However the coming issues are how to find resource and how to retrieve information efficiently and securely in P2P systems. We have conducted an extensive study to the status of P2P architecture and proposed a novel architecture of P2P based information retrieval systems: clustering domain based three-layer architecture, which is made up of application layer, structured layer and unstructured layer. The foundation of the new architecture is clustering domain having the same metadata, which is formed by nodes clustering. The sharing information is described by metadata using RDF statements. The novel architecture has inherited the advantages of both structured and unstructured architecture while eliminated their respective disadvantages.
