EPIDEMIOLOGICAL STUDY ON THE HEALTH OF MILITARY POLICE RECRUITS

An health epidemioloical study on 337 military police recuits who joined the army in 1990 has been carried out. The survey include the individual characteristics, the family background, and the psychological conditions about their joining the army as well as the living status in the army. Eysenek Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) was used to analyze the recruits' characters and temperaments. The results show that 59.03% of them bclong to the extrovisions,43.39% belong to the sanguine. There was a significant difference between their EPQ scores and the general module of male personality in our country (P<0.001).Quetelet Index (QI) in near half of recruits was lower than the standard. It is important to pay more attention to the recruits' individuality and temperament in order to make them adapt the life and training in the army better. It was suggested that QI is a more important index in reflecting the physical condition. Therefore, it is necessary to use QI is one of the criteria in physical measuring.
