| Abstract: | Changes in fundamental and higher order Gaussian beams propagating through a phase plate have been studied numerically in detail .The results have shown that the phase plate can change the field distribution and M 2 e factor based on the power content definition ,even M 2 e<1.However, the beam propagation factor M 2 based on the second moments definition can not be improved by using the phase plate. |
