24 Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring and Guidance of Antihypertensive Treatment

Hypertension is a common,important and independence risk factor of cardiovascular diseases. It is dangerous with high morbidity and mutilation. Moreover, most patients with hypertension have no symptoms, disability and fatal stroke may be the first clinical manifestations, hypertension is known as ＂secret killer＂. The low rate of hypertension about its awareness, treatment and control may be associated with that condition. Therefore, monitoring the changes of blood pressure day and night to guide rational medicine-taking is significant measure for the treatment of hypertension. This article reviews 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and guidance of antihypertensive treatment.
