Abstract:As one of the important sources of staple food and feed to meet the nutritional and energy needs of pets,canned pets have gradually increased in scale in recent years,and their products have become increasingly popular among pet owners.Compared with traditional extruded dry food,canned pet food has better palatability and higher energy density.This paper systematically described the main points of the production process of pet cans and the research progress at home and abroad from the aspects of palatability,nutritional characteristics,gelling agent selection and microbial control of canned pets,in order to standardize the canned pet market and promote the development of pet food science.
