Abstract:The cook-off test of RDX-based PBX explosive was carried out.A cook-off model of explosive was established.Frank-Kamenetskii model,Sestak-Berggreen model and McGuire-Tarver model were added into this model.The numerical simulation was conducted by a CFD software Fluent.Results show that the ignition time is 176.0min,the sample center temperature is 185.2℃ and the shell surface temperature is 194.8℃ of the PBX explosive at a heating rate of 1K/min,and the calculated results by Sestak-Berggreen model show that the ignition time is 176.5min,the sample center temperature is 187.2℃ and the shell surface temperature is 194.9℃.Comparing the calculated results with the experimentation,the calculation model and relevant parameters were validated.The calculations were conducted respectively to simulate the cook-off tests for PBX explosive at heating rates of 10K/min,1K/min and 3.3K/h.Calculation results show that the phase transition,ignition time,temperature distributing and ignition position of explosive are affected by heating rates.
