| Abstract: | This paper covers the definition, classification and application of smart textiles. Smart textiles can be categorized to passive smart, active smart and very smart types. Application fields range from the hygienic and health-care fabric to thermal insulation fabric, mood fabric, military protective fabric, media-play carpet and athletic fabric. An overview of worldwide development in textile smart textiles is represented as well. |
