One-stage Resection and Anastomosis for 30 Cases of Colon Cancer with Acute Intestinal Obstruction

Objective] To explore the feasibility of one-stage resection and anastomosis for colon cancer complicated with acute intestinal obstruction. Methods]Thirty two cases of colon cancer complicated with acute intestinal obstruction in our hospital from 2003 to 2009 were analyzed retrospectively. Results]Thirty two patients were all operated. Among them, 30 cases underwent one-stage resection and anastomosis, and 2 cases underwent colostomy. Stomas fistula after the operation occurred in 2 cases（6.3 %） and incision infection occurred in 3 cases（9.4 %）. NO on died. All patients were cured and discharged from hospital. Conclusion]If the whole body and tumor status permit, one-stage resection and anastomosis for colon cancer patients complicated with acute intestinal obstruction is feasible. The eolostomy should be chosen to remove the obstruction for the unresectable patients.
