Synthesis of 2- (Phenylthio) ethanamine |

| Abstract: | 2-(Phenylthio) ethanamine, the intermediate of Bcl-2 inhibitor ABT-263 was prepared from 2-phenylthio ethyl bromide by Gabriel reaction. The results showed that 4-nitrophthalimide was better than phthalimide as the synthon with an overall yield of about 61 %. |
