Abstract:Transient dynamic characteristic of a rotorsupport-casing system in an aeroengiae is analyzed by means of whole transfer matrix-dynamic substructure method. The effects of various sudden unbalance levels, radial oil film clearances of damper and different oil viscosity on the transi-* ent response of the entire engine system are investigated. The results show that the squeeze film* damper can effectively control the transient forced vibration caused by sudden unbalance and* avoid the system instability within the design parameters.
