乌鲁木齐遥测地震台网承担新疆地区大震速报和乌鲁木齐地区微震监测任务。随着国民经济的发展和数字化技术的成熟,在“八五”期间建设了乌鲁木齐模拟遥测台网;“九五”期间乌鲁木齐台网改造为数字化台网;“十五”期间,乌鲁木齐遥测台网将新建、改建、扩建为新疆数字化遥测台网。台网建成后,台网布局较为合理,将为新疆的抗震救灾,为地震预报和地震科学研究工作提供更加可靠、方便的资料。
