Abstract:It presents failure analysis of resonance induced by Von Karman vortex shedding from runner blades for Dachaoshan 225MW hydro unit. The reason for abnormal noise and runner blade cracks is found and the countermeasures for eliminating the turbine failures are given. The experience of Dachaoshan turbine can be used for reference for the trouble shooting of large turbines.
