摘    要:中国非英语专业学习者由于语言输入环境缺乏、词汇有限而无法通过大量阅读等方法附带习得词汇,直接学习还是他们的首选。本研究首先探讨了通过词汇表直接学习单词的利与弊;然后设计了一种全新的词汇表——多项选择注释词汇表,并对其在二语词汇习得中的影响进行了实证研究,结果发现其更适合学生习得词汇。作者用"投入量"理论、"加工水平说"理论对这一结果进行了解释。

Abstract:This essay illustrates the importance of vocabulary learning and introduces a multiplechoice word list (MCWL). Then an empirical research is conducted concerning the effect of two types of word lists, MCWL and the ordinary list (OWL) on vocabulary acquisition. The results obtained show that both for the short-term memory and long term memory, MCWL is more effective than the OWL. The results of this study can be explained by the Involvement Load Hypothesis and the Depth and Elaboration of Processing Theory.
