Abstract: | The compatibilization of poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) with polyamide 6(PA6, higher acrylonitrile content) blend was improved by adding poly(methyl methacrylate) (PTFE). It was confirmed by characterizing the mechanical and tribological properties of the blends. More homogeneous morphology was formed when PTFE was added into PVDF/PA6 blend, which was shown in scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The surface tension of blends was increased due to the higher polar surface tension of PTFE. As the content of PTFE was increased further, the tensile strength of the blend was slightly decreased. |
