| Abstract: | This study reported the results of mutagcnicity test of rivanol. Rivanol has been used to induce therapeutic abortions in midpregnacy and is considered safe and effecitive. The strains TA97, TA98, TA100 and TA102 with or without S9 mix in the Ames test, the micronucleus assay of polychromatic erythrocytes in mice, the chromosome aberration assay were measured, The results demonstated that rivanol would not be to induce mutagcnicity in the micronucleus assay and the chromosome aberration assay. but the findings reported here thet the rivanol showed potent mutagenicity for strain TA98, is a bacterial mutagcn, at lest in procaryotes. |
